Yo everyone!

Heard the streaming results? Good thing nobody dropped though. Even though majority of us will be remaining and moving up to 204, very sad that so many people leaving us!!! T.T

And when I mean leaving, I dont only mean streaming, but transfering too. Please dont transfer!
okay anyway, we have english homework in lead!

holidays for all Sec 1 students, with instructions.

Holiday Homework for Secondary One 2007

Please complete the following assignment during your long year end holidays.
Do your work regularly and consistently, remembering language skill is acquired over a period of time. It is your duty and for your own good that you stay in touch with the language.

a. Reading

Read at least FOUR good books this holiday. Log on to http://www.lead.com.sg/ to download the book review form. For ONE of these books, write a proper book review. You can refer to the attached article on Book Review. Your proper book review should be about 300 words long.
These book reviews may be graded by your English teacher when term begins next year.

b. Comprehension

Read the Comprehension passage given. Create an exercise of 10 comprehension questions and 5 vocabulary words. You can refer to your textbook for samples. The exercise will be exchanged with your friends. Of course you must have the correct answers, mini-teachers!

c. Writing

Based on the comprehension passage given, work on the following writing practice.

For Express Classes : Imagine you are a reporter for a youth magazine.
First, draft a series of TEN questions to ask the writer – Mr Tan Guan Heng.
Second, make brief notes as answers to those questions.
Third, write a 200 word report on the interview.

For Normal Academic Classes : Imagine you are Wai Lin from the story, “My Love is Blind”.
Write a diary entry of the first morning when you found that Choon Guan had gone blind. Your entry should include your feelings and questions. Your entry should also be about 200 words long.

For Normal Technical Classes : Imagine it is the first day of Choon Guan going blind.
Write out a list of at least 4 people who were with him that day. First, give a short description of about 50 words in total on who, Choon Guan, the person was and second, what those 4 persons did for him.

d. Listening

Go and watch a good ENGLISH movie e.g. A BEE Movie, Stardust. Enjoy yourself, but write a short film review of what you had watched. You can use the same pattern of writing as the Book Review.

e. Speaking

Be ready to speak in front of your class when you return. For Sec One Express and Normal Academic students, you should revise your Oral Communication Skills.
When school starts, you can give an oral presentation on what you did during the holidays, e.g. any of your experiences or on the 4 exercises you have done. You can also consider speaking on ONE of the four core values of the school.

Enjoy your holidays meaningfully.

on the first week! how incredibly stupid man... test on first week. sigh. wonder
